Emmanuel!
I continue to be amazed at how God is working in our church family at High Hill Christian Church. In the past month we have again seen our heavenly Father answers prayer in our congregation; several chose to accept Christ and follow His call in baptism, several others joined our church family by placing their membership at High Hill, and last week we experienced the joy of a fully restored membership with the installation of new deacons! It truly is a great time to be at High Hill Christian Church!
On Palm Sunday we began a two week hiatus from our Journey with the King in order to focus intently on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This is the very hope and joy which we cling to as believers in Christ, the paramount event of all of history, the defining moment of the reconciliation of all who choose to follow Christ! Let’s celebrate the joy of our Risen Savior this Easter!
We will continue on our Journey with the King on April 19th. As we press on, we will learn about how fully God heals and how as restoration occurs the healing continues when we obediently serve Christ. This is where we find who we really are, in obedience and service of our King! When our relationship with Him is in order, our purpose and identity are found in the outworking of that relationship. It will impact every relationship we have.
Together we are learning about who Christ is, and what His life ministry and sacrifice mean to each of us in our daily lives. Continue to read the passages from the Journey Series (Posted in the newsletter, bulletin, and on the website) and prayerfully ponder what God is revealing to you. Ask questions of what you read, such as: “What is happening in this passage? Who are the main characters in this passage and how am I like/different from them? What are the major issues in this story? Do these issues exist in my life?” Discuss your findings with your small group, family and friends and see what they have learned. When we discuss God’s Word together, the message unites us and the Journey becomes more personal and pleasurable!
I also have a personal request. One of the things which I have been personally moved by in this Journey with the King study is how God desires to impact communities of people with the message of Christ. I am overwhelmed by the numerous communities mentioned by the Gospel writers which Jesus changed with his presence. I believe this is no different today; God intends to transform communities through the power of Christ, and He uses believers to do so. Transformed Communities – that is what will happen as we continue to pour the love of Christ out into the lives of those around us. We do not yet know what this will look like, but I am asking you to pray for the Lord to reveal to High Hill Christian Church how we might be used by God in our community. Thank you for your prayers!
In His hands,
Brandon
